CartaPoetry & Philosophy
A native iOS reading app for poetry and philosophy. Read one passage at a time, keep the lines that stay with you, and settle in with ten paper-toned canvases and ambient soundscapes. No ads, no third-party tracking.
Distraction-free reading
Focus on the writing.
Carta shows one passage at a time on a stack of cards. Swipe right to keep it, left to pass, or open it in the full-screen reader. Everything you keep lands in Kept, ready to read offline.
Inside the app
Key features in Version 3.1
For You
A personal deck that learns from the writers and themes you keep and skip, and reaches your Home Screen as a widget.
Kept, your anthology
Swipe right and a passage leaves every deck and settles in Kept. Search it, gather favorites into decks of your own, and bind them into a printable PDF booklet.
Distraction-free reader
Expand any card into full-screen reading mode. Swipe between passages without UI clutter and jump back to the deck whenever you want.
Canvases & soundscapes
Ten paper-toned palettes from Dawn to Midnight, heritage serifs, and four bundled soundscapes: Rain on Glass, Midnight Hearth, Silent Library, and Twilight Wind.
Widgets & daily reflections
Home and Lock Screen widgets for the passage of the day, For You, or any deck. Optional morning and evening passages you can keep straight from the notification.
Built to work offline
Your library works without cell service.
Offline-first reads: Carta keeps a local cache and a built-in starter library, so you can read anytime, even with airplane mode on or no cell service.
On-device library: Kept passages and your own decks are stored on your iPhone with SwiftData. No account required; sign in with Apple or email only if you want cloud backup across devices.
Quote export studio: Export high-resolution images sized for Instagram stories (9:16), posts (4:5), or square format (1:1) with custom fonts and palettes.
